Meet the Artist
Mario Angelini

My passion for drawing and sculpture was ignited at the age of five. Sitting for hours, I drew everything I saw: faces, trees, animals. Inspired by my father's work as a product designer, I sculpted my first piece, a reclining dog, by age seven, learning to make molds and castings on my own.

My talent was recognized early, leading to art classes at the Fitchburg Art Museum School Saturday morning classes. In my early teens I won awards for my design work with the Fischer Body Craftsman Guild Competition.

After two years as an Army MP, I earned a BFA from Western Michigan University and began a 25-year career at General Motors Design Center, contributing to projects like the Hummer H3.

Throughout my career, I nurtured my love for art, creating photo-realistic graphite drawings of AKC dog breeds, which were sold in over 200 pet stores. One of my proudest achievements is an 8ft x 20ft colored pencil drawing, "Classical Sound Waves," permanently displayed at Devos Place Grand Gallery in Grand Rapids, MI.

Inspired by the vibrant colors of Van Gogh and the iconic prints of Warhol, I strive to blend these influences into my work. My goal is to create art that brings joy and smiles, combining the dynamic energy of Van Gogh with Warhol's bold style. I've completed over 130 full-color portraits of popular AKC dogs and Fancy Felines, each piece a celebration of color and life. If my work brings happiness to others, I consider my mission accomplished.

Blessings and Ciao for now!
